PTA in 2026: staying the course with high-impact events

Passenger Terminal Amsterdam sets her course
Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA) continues to firmly position itself at the top of the venue market in 2026. The focus is not on volume growth, but on impact. Not on standardised events, but on bold, tailor-made experiences that challenge clients to make clear, strategic choices. This ambition is strongly articulated by Rosanne Beekman, Head of Events at PTA.
Not just a space, but a statement
While many venues still focus on capacity and logistics, PTA deliberately positions itself as a strategic partner for clients aiming to stand out. Its iconic space serves as a blank canvas, but one that demands conviction. As Rosanne explains: “PTA requires bold clients. This is not a place to hide behind standard formats. The space exposes everything: the narrative, the choices, the creativity. And precisely because of that, the end result becomes more distinctive and more relevant.”
From square metres to brand experience
In a market where venues often feel interchangeable, PTA focuses on character and positioning. Events are not simply facilitated, they are curated and staged. Every detail contributes to the client’s brand experience. The result: events that are remembered, not just attended.
IJvenues: scale without compromise
Through its partnership within IJvenues – PTA, Mövenpick Amsterdam City Centre, Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and Bimhuis – PTA offers a unique ecosystem where scale and flexibility come together seamlessly. A recent example is the International Hotel Technology Forum Europe. Plenary sessions were hosted at Mövenpick, while PTA became the stage for breakout sessions; an intentional reversal of the traditional event model. “We challenge conventional setups when it benefits the client. That level of flexibility is only possible through our close collaboration. We don’t think in limitations, but in solutions,” says Rosanne.
Repeat business underscores market position
This strategic positioning translates into long-term client relationships. ASTA once again selected PTA as the host venue for the Europe River Cruise Expo; a four-day event welcoming 1,600 international guests. The confidence extends even further: PTA is already confirmed for the 2028 edition. These commitments are no coincidence, but the result of consistent quality and a distinctive market proposition.
Locally anchored, internationally relevant
Alongside international corporates, PTA remains firmly rooted in Amsterdam. Its partnership with the University of Amsterdam, using PTA as an examination venue since 2020, highlights its versatility and reliability. From academic precision to high-end corporate events, PTA moves seamlessly across worlds without ever compromising on quality.
