The client’s request
I have been working in the events industry for over eleven years now. I have seen and hosted all kinds of events at our venue. From trade fairs to product launches; from dinners to plenary conferences. It always starts with the request and wishes of a potential client. Suppose you want to organise a plenary session for 1,000 guests with several breakout sessions, each for 200 people, followed by drinks. You’ll then look for a venue with multiple rooms, a venue where this is possible. Makes sense, doesn’t it?
During their search, clients also come to us: Passenger Terminal Amsterdam. A beautiful, transparent and iconic building with multiple decks. Fantastic views of Amsterdam, right by the water and easily accessible. But what else do they see? One large, open space. No fixed layouts. No standard rooms. A completely blank canvas… And that is exactly where the magic happens.
Creating together
A client is immediately inspired upon entering our venue; that’s the effect the space has on them. Together with the client, we create the event. I know better than anyone what is possible at our venue. This means we can not only execute the concept, but also refine or even redesign it. The result is always the same: an unrivalled event, a memorable experience for the visitors and a delighted client.

Of course, there are certain prerequisites for this success. For instance, we work with preferred suppliers whom we strongly recommend, so that we can guarantee quality. But the real difference lies in the creative process. That is where the concept is translated down to the smallest details and where the experience is created. The venue is not merely a backdrop, but an integral part of the event.
